Adult Patient Helper - on an "on
call" basis, care for adults who are patients in need
of special attention.
Advanced Directives Helper - assist
patients filling out AD forms.
Bulk Mailing - on an "on call"
basis, assist with processing mailings.
Childcare - on an "on call"
basis, care for children of staff members during department
meetings.
Child Patient Helper - on an "on
call" basis, care for young children who are patients
in need of special attention.
Clerical - perform basic clerical
tasks in offices and clinics.
Cleaning - clean wheelchairs and/or
fitness center equipment.
Computer - perform basic computer
tasks for hospital departments.
Copywork - copy items for hospital
departments.
Department Delivery - pickup
and deliver department mail.
Disaster Helper - on an "on
call" basis, assist the hospital staff during a Disaster
Code.
Escort/Transport - escort and transport
customers and transport items around the hospital as requested.
Hospitality - take complimentary
beverages on a cart to customers in waiting areas.
Knitting/Sewing - at home, knit newborn
caps or sew children's surgery caps or repair sewn items.
Lifeline - visit people to intall
or troubleshoot Lifeline equipment.
Mobile Meals - take noon meals to
Mobile Meal subscribers in their homes.
Patient Visitor - cheer up patients
by visiting them.
Plant Care - water and care for plants
in waiting rooms, hallways, etc.
Publicity - at home, write news articles
for the Friends of SPMH&C (computer capability preferred)
and take pictures for news articles.
Recycled Paper Pickup - pick up office
paper in hospital departments for recycling.
Rehab - transport patients in wheelchairs
to and from therapy.
Serving - on an "on call"
basis, serve refreshments or dinners to visiting groups.
Sunshine Patch - clerk in the hospital
gift+coffee shop.
Supplies - sort, count, label, tag
and stock hospital supplies
Tour Guide - on an "on call"
basis, escort groups or visitors on hospital tours (staff
do speaking parts).
Tray Favors - at home, make small
cheerful items for inpatient food trays.
Waiting Room - greet family or friends
waiting for surgery results and relay information to them.
Yardwork - on an "on call"
basis, raking, weeding, seeding and planting in the hospital
gardens.
