Our Respiratory Services Department provides
patient care evaluated and directed by SPMH Medical Staff
including: therapeutic services, monitoring and diagnostic
testing to all hospital patients 24 hours a day.
Our services are tailored to meet the needs of the neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and
geriatric populations of the hospital. The care provided is individualized to meet the needs of the
various patients and is delivered in collaboration with clinicians throughout the hospital.
Our goal is to return the patient to their previous condition or to reduce the impact of illness or
injury on the quality of their life. The therapists are licensed by the State of Wisconsin.
The Respiratory services provided include:
- 16-Channel Overnight Sleep Lab (Polysomnography)
- 2-Channel Hypoxia Screening
- 4-Channel Sleep Apnea Screening
- Arterial Blood Gases
- Asthma Management
- Basic Spirometry and Pre- and Post-Bronchodilator or Exercise
Testing
- Body Plethysmography for Lung Volume, Airway Resistance
and DLCO
- CPAP and BiPAP
- CPR and Patient Support in Cardio-Resp Failure
- Heliox Gas Therapy
- Home Care Planning in Areas Relating to Respiratory Care
- Mechanical Ventilation and Weaning
- Medicated Aerosol Therapy
- Outpatient Services at SPHM and clinic sites
- Oxygen Therapy
- Postural Drainage and Percussion
- Smoking Cessation Assistance
