Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital & Clinics
(SPMHC) is a not-for-profit [501c3] corporation founded in
1956 located in Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin.
The hospital facility features 36 acute
care beds and a full array of outpatient departments. More
than 2,200 inpatients are discharged annually and patient
revenue exceeds $50 million. SPMHC operates four primary care
clinics in Lodi, Black Earth, Plain, and Spring Green. Approximately
35 physicians serve as full-time active members of the medical
staff, while another 84 physicians offer consulting and courtesy
services. The hospital is Joint Commission accredited.
SPMHC primarily serves 10 zip codes with
more than 35,000 residents extending from Poynette to Lone
Rock, from Plain to Black Earth. The service area is economically
supported by agriculture, tourism, and heavy and light manufacturing.
The hospital complex is just blocks from
the majestic Wisconsin River where bald eagles feed in the
open waters near the Prairie du Sac dam. Summer days can be
spent walking along the river path, or climbing the bluffs
of Devil's Lake State Park, just 15 minutes from town. This
beautiful scenic community is located just 30 minutes from
Madison, which offers an array of shopping and arts, as well
as a world class university.
