SPMHC patients not at risk from steroid injections linked to meningitis
Patients who received epidural steroid injections at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital & Clinics can be assured they have not been exposed to the medication linked to a recent meningitis outbreak. That product is preservative-free methylprednisolone acetate (80mg/ml), an injectable steroid produced and distributed by New England Compounding Center (NECC) in Framingham, Massachusetts. SPMHC has never purchased this medication from NECC. For more information from the Food & Drug Administration, visit http://www.fda.gov/Drugs/DrugSafety/ucm322734.htm.
