In recognition of wellness opportunities available for employees, Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital & Clinics was recently presented with a Gold Governor’s Worksite Wellness Award. Amy DeLong, MD, MPH, presented the award to Employee Health and Wellness Coordinator Kitty Murphy, RN, on behalf of the governor and his Council on Physical Fitness and Health.

“It is truly an honor to be recognized with this award from the governor,” said Murphy. “SPMHC has a great culture of kindness and compassion for our patients and for our community. We also realize that promoting wellness starts within the organization, with each employee’s daily decision making.”

As one of 11 gold level award recipients in the state, SPMHC is recognized as a worksite that is committed to creating a work culture that enables employees to develop and maintain lifelong healthy behaviors. SPMHC is commended for having the policies, programs and infrastructure to support and promote healthy eating, physical activity, mental health as well as alcohol-free, tobacco-free and drug-free lifestyles. Governor Doyle and the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Health have initiated the Worksite Wellness Award to recognize and celebrate worksites that place a high value on employee health and have taken steps to create and maintain a healthy work environment.
